1954 born in Darmstadt, died in 2024. He lived and worked in Hugstetten near Freiburg and in Crete.

D. Sommer's works want to be open systems, intermediate realms, twilight stages on which the possibilities and hints play. If a picture title points to landscape, then this is not necessarily a topographical determination, but rather a place of experience of looking.
His oil paintings are usually supplemented by graphic elements.
