Visual artist and graphic designer Pauline Joerger draws inspiration from poetry, cinema, and nature to create original works.
After obtaining a Master's degree in Artistic Direction in Paris (LISAA Paris), her career started in the capital, as a graphic designer and junior artistic director at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris-Saclay.
From Strasbourg, Paris to San Francisco, a story of artistic love
A lover of fine arts and creativity in all its forms since childhood, Pauline Joerger has continued to cultivate her artistic sensibility wherever she goes. First in Strasbourg, where she studied applied arts at the LISAA school, then in Paris, where she immersed herself in the vibrant world of visual creation. With a master's degree in digital art direction under her belt, she soon began collaborating with prestigious institutions in the capital, such as the Victor Hugo Museum, the City of Paris, and the Paris Institute of Technology. The young artist then settled in San Francisco for two years, specializing in digital communication, and this incredible showcase of modernity stimulated her entrepreneurial spirit. Back in Alsace, Pauline Joerger now combines her two passions for art and design by collaborating with the private art collection “Collection Kluckert” (owned by Manfred Kluckert, owner of Galerie K) and creating unique works using mixed media.
“I never leave home without my sketchbook and my camera,” she says. “A Polaroid or an old film photograph can be the starting point for a creation.” She draws inspiration from her walks in the mountains, her strolls through art galleries, and also from literature. “Hugo, Hemingway, Éluard, and Camus are among my heroes, as are Stanley Kubrick, Gustave Doré, and Yann Arthus-Bertrand!”
Vibrant mixed media works
My flagship project, imbued with minimalism and depth, show my love of textures.
« Graphical & Abstract Landscapes » is a sensory and visual exploration, between Visual Arts and Graphic Design, my two professions and lifeworks. Each piece in the series is the fruit of a plastic research, at the crossroads of surrealism, travel diaries and meditation. I am looking to find emotions in the colors, a sober stylization and a minimalistic style.
My Polaroid shots become an abstract material for me to create. The Artworks tell about the internal feelings and memories related to the reality of each individual and the common reality. They also tell us about some abstract place between past, present and future, conscious and subconscious.
