Werner Berges, born in 1941 in Cloppenburg (GER), died in 2017, Werner Berges was a German Postwar & Contemporary artist.Werner Berges belongs to the inner circle of German Pop Artist.
He has had an impact on the German art scene since the early 60’s. His strong, bold colors and his distinct lines differed greatly from the art of the Postwar Germany. His paintings and drawings can be seen as a critic response to the omnipresent advertising depicting a flawless female body. Berges permanently reinvented his style, experimenting with different materials and techniques and yet remaining true to his style.
Lives and works in Schallstadt bei Freiburg i. Br.
